Aluminum Christmas Wonderland

2008, or 1965? Remember the magical shimmer of the aluminum Christmas tree and how the gently rotating color wheel transformed an otherwise stark mass of wood and metal into one of the finest holiday decorations the space age ever produced. Do I dare put up my vintage aluminum Christmas tree?

I have a great, retro shiny silver, 6-foot Christmas tree from the 1960s - bought it on eBay from an antiques dealer. I have the cool spinning, 4-color wheel that makes it sparkle. (Admit it, you oldsters know exactly what I'm talking about!) It wasn't too expensive for a decorative item, but it WOULD be heinously expensive as a cat toy.

My question for you: how did your cats deal with one of these trees? Did they savage it? Disdain it? Fear it?

My fuzzy monsters have been fairly well-behaved for the last two Christmases when we had a cut pine tree. There was some drama with the ornaments on the lower branches, but that's about it.

I was wondering what a1962 aluminum Christmas tree would be worth , with it's light wheel all in mint cond. ?

I was wondering what a 1962 " A Fountain Style "Aluminum Specialty Tree is worth. . It also has it's original Color wheel and it is in MINT condition , still has it's box... I was wondering what it would be worth ?? Angie
